Camilla and Steve welcomed their sweet baby Ella on November 4, 2011. Owen got to meet his sweet girlfriend on November 8. Steve and Tommy work together as radiology residents at Duke and we have been friends with them since we moved to town. Our 3 years here in Durham are filled with so many amazing memories and I couldn't imagine not having them in our lives.
Camilla and I somehow managed to get pregnant almost 3 weeks apart from each other. We were SO excited to share our stories with one other. Camilla was a glowing and beautiful Mommy-t0-be during her entire pregnancy. She looked amazing and had a small bump. I on the other hand looked like a big swollen mess and looked giant head to toe. Our deliveries of our precious bundles also seemed to mirror our pregnancies. Hers, although a week past her due date was a complete breeze, whereas mine resulted in almost 24 hours of labor with a c-section at the end of everything. Camilla was due on October 28th and I was due November 16th. We always compared our symptoms with each other towards the end and never did we ever expect that Owen's arrival would come before Ella's. I joked with her that Owen wanted to be the older one in the relationship so that he could look out for Ella!!
Here are pictures of us meeting baby Ella for the first time. Owen was really excited, despite him looking really upset in this picture. He told me later she was the prettiest baby he had ever seen. :) I foresee LOTS of play dates with both of them in the near future! Welcome Baby Ella!! We are so excited you are here!!
